Celebrating our Cultural Heritage!
On Nov. 14, 2025, NOVA RPCV participated in Glasgow Middle School’s Cultural Heritage Night. Over 20 different countries from Somalia to Afghanistan to Sudan and beyond proudly showcased their countries’ history, traditions, culture and cuisine. From Turkish “Michael Jackson” popular song performances (lauded by NOVA RPCV Bulgaria and Vice President Beth Hain) to studying our world map to “pin” their home country, adults and students alike enjoyed discovering the different cultures on display. NOVA RPCV Board President Lisa Martin (RPCV Estonia), Beth Hain (RPCV Bulgaria) and Lori Yamamoto (RPCV Niger) showcased the cultures of Estonia, Bulgaria and Niger and discussed Peace Corps and its Third Goal of sharing our experience from serving overseas. Great fun celebrating our diverse heritage and experiences!
